Our Fellowship
We are a liberal religious fellowship. Our members’ beliefs span a wide range including Humanist, Atheist, Free-Thinker, Buddhist, Mystic, Agnostic, Pagan, Wiccan, Christian and Jewish. We value many types of religious exploration – discussion and meditation among them. Our congregation places importance on social justice, environmental stewardship, and freedom of thought and expression.
The Fellowship is a Welcoming Congregation, which means we welcome Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender persons.
We have a thriving Children’s and Teens’ Religious Education program under the renowned leadership of Katie Covey, Director of RE. Many of our members first come to the Fellowship seeking a place where their children can learn about religion, ask questions and be encouraged by a supportive religious community. We also offer Adult Religious Education programs with topics ranging from Unitarian Universalist beliefs and history to Voluntary Simplicity, parenting and a perennially popular film discussion course.
In a Fall 2006 survey of members and friends, the top six reasons people maintain their involvement in the Fellowship were:
- Sense of community
- Unitarian Universalist beliefs
- Sunday morning services
- Celebrating common values
and – nearly tied at 5 and 6 – - Intellectual environment
- Spiritual growth
The Fellowship is located in Lafayette, Colorado and draws individuals and families from many communities in Boulder County and beyond — Boulder, Nederland, Niwot, Longmont, Firestone, Lafayette, Louisville, Superior, Erie, Broomfield, Westminster, Commerce City, Eldorado-Springs, Denver, and Arvada.
