How To Use The Calendar
The UUF uses an online calendar, called CalendarWiz, that provides a number of benefits for Fellowship members, friends, and visitors as well as for the BVUUF office staff.
The calendar can be accessed from Calendar & Events or from the QUICK LINKS menu. If you have any comments or suggestions regarding the online calendar, feel free to send them to .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).
The calendar tool makes it easy for the office staff to create the printed calendar that is included in the Connections newsletter that is mailed to all members and friends each month.
The office staff keeps the calendar up-to-date at all times. Once a month, the calendar is printed and inserted in Connections. All new events are added as soon as they become known. By accessing the calendar on the BVUUF website, all members and friends can keep themselves current.
The office staff uses the calendar tool to manage the scheduling of the rooms of the fellowship building, so groups can see in ‘real time’ if the room is available for a planned meeting.
To schedule the use of a room
- First look at the calendar to get an idea if an appropriate room is available.
- If a room appears to be available:
- Email the office specifying
- The date of your planned meeting
- Beginning and ending time
- The number of persons attending
- Your room preference if any and
- Any special requirements
The office will determine if an appropriate room is available and if so put your reservation onto the calendar. The office will also advise you by return email whether or not your room has been successfully scheduled.
To have the calendar tool e-mail you a reminder of any future event on the calendar.
- Click the event to access the pertinent details page
- Next, click the ‘Set Reminder’ button
- Enter your e-mail address
- select a reminder time (e.g., 1 hour before event, 1 day before event, etc.).
- The calendar tool will email you a reminder at the time you specified.
To export events to your computer or PDA
The calendar tool supports two different export formats, which allows you to export any/all calendar entries to your own computer (into a Microsoft calendar application, like Outlook, or into a spreadsheet file) or even to your PDA device (such as a Palm Pilot).
- Click ‘Export’ in the menu at the top of the calendar
- Follow the instructions provided there.
